Travel Nurse RN - PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - $1,903 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Seattle, Washington. This is a 13‑week travel assignment requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary.
• Follow continuous cardiac and respiratory monitor readings (EKG, O2 stats, CVP/arterial line waveforms) and report observed changes.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs (both central venous and arterial).
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as ventilators.
• Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures, including life‑saving situations.
• Assist with insertion or discontinuation of CV catheters, arterial lines, external ventricular drains, Foley catheters, epidural catheters, and endotracheal tubes.

Requirements

• Current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 10‑20 pounds of equipment as needed.
• Awareness of potential exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.
