About the unit
- Number of Beds: 14–22
- Number of Staff: Dependent on acuity and census
- Type of staff:
- Day Shift – CNC / 4–6 nurses (prefer CNC free), unit secretary
- Night Shift – CNC / 4–6 nurses (prefer CNC free)
- Patient Ratios: Med/Surg 4:1
- EMR: Meditech
Required certifications
- BLS
- PALS
Preferred or nice-to-have certifications
- ACLS
Typical procedures performed on unit
- Cleft palate repair
- Appendectomy (appy)
- Chest tube management
- Lumbar punctures
- Seizure management
- Noninvasive cardiology only (no neurosurgery or stroke, no removal of foreign body from airway)
- Current services: neuro, ortho, general surgery, thoracic cases such as thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, pectus bar implants

Schedule
- Start Date: 08/17/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12 hours, nights
- Weekends: 4 weekend days every 4 weeks
- No on-call requirement
