About the role
Pediatric Floor Registered Nurse (RN) in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves the independent peri-anesthetic management of complex pediatric surgical and procedural inpatient and outpatient populations. The nurse will care for a varied caseload of surgical and procedural patients in a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and surgical center. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to work with nationally recognized pediatric specialists.
Schedule
- Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
- Minimum of 48 hours per week
- Start date: 08/31/2026
Responsibilities
- Care for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and adults with varied diagnoses, including complex surgeries and procedures
- Work within interdisciplinary teams such as respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Prioritize safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care in a healing environment tailored for pediatric patients and their families
- Pass strict pass/fail Telemetry testing in adult and pediatric exams (up to three attempts allowed)
Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent compact license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) experience
- Epic electronic charting system experience
- BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Ability to pass Telemetry test prior to start
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Pediatric patient care experience
- Community hospital setting experience
- Trauma level II certification
