About the role

We are looking for dedicated Inpatient Pediatric (Medical Surgical) RNs in Chinle, AZ with excellent communication skills, critical thinking skills, and a team player attitude. This provider will be responsible for caring for patients, communicating with other medical team members, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric medical-surgical nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage pediatric patients, recognizing changes in condition, complications, and medication effects and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses, side effects, and potential complications.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their families to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and follow applicable clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide clinical guidance to other nursing staff and assist with unit quality and safety initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform inter-facility patient transports and other duties within the scope of pediatric nursing practice.
  • When assigned as team lead, coordinate patient assignments based on acuity and oversee required unit checks, including controlled-substance inventory and documentation.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted RN License – any state license accepted
  • Minimum 3 years RN experience; 1 year experience in specialty
  • BLS – American Heart Association (Required)
  • PALS – American Heart Association (Required)
