Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $3,095 per week

About the role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Units in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as cardiac issues, nephrology, strokes, and diabetes. The RN will work on a fast-paced unit, delivering quality patient care with a focus on communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes mellitus (DM), and continuous EEG monitoring
• Manage titratable drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Serve as charge nurse on shifts, which may include taking patient assignments
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units as required
• Complete pass/fail exam during orientation with a 90% passing criterion
• Use EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
• No artificial nails while providing patient care
• No concurrent full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any facility associated with the organization, including CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in step down or telemetry units

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Minimum 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment beginning 08/31/2026
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5, 1:10, or 2:20 on the floor
• First week includes onboarding and 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation
• Request for Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront for 7 or fewer days within the 13-week contract
