Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,789 per week

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota. The role is a 13‑week travel contract requiring 48 hours per week on 12‑hour shifts, starting October 19, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment who are not unstable enough for ICU care.
• Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs, detect changes, and enable intervention for life‑threatening or emergency situations.
• Titrate complex medications based on patient vital signs.
• Utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information.
• Function as a step‑down nurse in cardiac, medical, neuro, surgical, or ER holding units.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum eighteen months of recent experience in an acute care PCU/step‑down setting.
• Additional requirements may be specified by the client facility.
