Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,300 per week

About the role

The healthcare professional will provide patient care within an acute care setting specializing in Step Down Unit services. This role involves managing neuro step-down and progressive patients, including drip titration for experienced nurses, and collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality care during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for neuro step-down and progressive patients
• Perform drip titration (for experienced nurses)
• Collaborate with a healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
• Float to similar units such as Medical-Surgical when required, maintaining a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Attend Jumpstart program and EPIC training, followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation

Requirements

• Indiana (IN) or Compact licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (may be obtained before start)
• Minimum of 2 years of previous neuro experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Step Down Unit

Qualifications

• Prior experience managing neuro patients
• Drip titration experience
• Familiarity with electronic medical records such as EPIC
• Proficiency with equipment including Philips bedside monitors and defibrillators

Schedule

• Night shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week (minimum)
• Three weekend shifts every four weeks
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 3-4:1 on progressive care, 4-5:1 on medical-surgical floors

Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs. Charting completed using EPIC.
