Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,272 per week

About the role

HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week assignment in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care in a progressive care unit setting.
• Manage chest tube and wound vac treatments as needed.
• Perform EKGs as required.
• Administer medications including Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips.
• Participate in bedside and hourly rounding, ensuring patient needs are met.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures, including documentation in Meditech-HCA version.
• Adhere to patient experience requirements such as checking the glass board for department focus areas and using the scrolling video kiosk.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and certifications (BLS/ACLS).
• Comply with the dress code policy.

Requirements

• A current, active, unrestricted license to practice as an RN in any state.
• A valid BLS certification.
• An ACLS certification.
• Experience in a progressive care unit setting is preferred.
• Advanced skills in managing drips and administering medications.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of progressive care unit experience.
• Knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including 12-hour shifts, nights, and weekends.
• Familiarity with the Meditech-HCA version documentation system.
• Experience with the ES dispensing system for medications.

Skills

• Cardiac knowledge is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Proficiency in using the Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry, and MP2 systems.
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
