Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,178 per week

About the role

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Omaha, Nebraska. The position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Qualifications

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Skills

Essential skills include critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read/write in the English language, read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills are required. Physical abilities include remaining in a stationary position, moving about, moving equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, and bending. Interpersonal skills involve working effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/motor skills include grasping, performing fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and moving about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental requirements include coping with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Sensory requirements include possessing visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.

Pay & Schedule

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
