This role involves providing high-quality nursing care for post-procedure cardiac patients, including those undergoing cath/stents/interventions, pacers, ICDs, and ablations. The position supports a 19-bed blended unit with a focus on critical assessments and neuro evaluations, requiring the ability to interpret tele/12-lead EKGs and manage complex patient needs during day shifts. Job Details: Schedule: 12-hour daytime shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Current active compact nursing license; minimum of 2 solid years of experience in Stepdown or 5 years of solid Stepdown experience if no travel background; recent EPIC charting experience (checkoff class required); certifications including AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS; valid tele/12-lead EKG interpretation skills; current pediatric, neuro, and cardiac assessment skills; minimum experience required: 0.0 years Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post heart cath care (femoral/traction bands), initiating/titrating drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin), managing chest tubes, PIV insertion, and neuro assessments such as NIHSS; ability to float within skillset and respond to cross-campus assignments with a 2-hour notice; comfortable working in a blended unit environment Float: Float rotation may be required within the same campus and cross-campus to other units with a 2-hour notice On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule; every other holiday Additional Information: Emphasis on strong assessment and critical thinking skills; unit may require precepting of students and new hires; Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos; COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change); GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, excluding holidays when the unit may be closed Benefits The benefits of taking a travel assignment with Cross Country include: Private housing or generous housing allowance Comprehensive health insurance with prescription coverage Dependent health insurance with prescription coverage Competitive salaries Referral bonuses Travel reimbursement 401(k) retirement plan Direct deposit/free checking Unlimited free CE credits Cross Country Job ID #1296853.
