The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to age‑specific criteria within a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care for postoperative open‑heart patients.
• Monitor and manage cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care per age‑specific criteria.
• Assist with chest tube removal and manage temporary pacers.
• Use oxygen delivery systems and perform cardiac diagnostics and interventions.
• Float to all units within skill level as needed.

Requirements

• Current Ohio/OH or Compact Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Post‑operative open‑heart care experience.
• Critical Care experience.
• Chest tube and drain management experience.
• Pre‑ and post‑procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips.
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities.
• Submission of a skills checklist, active BLS and ACLS certifications, and a valid state RN license.
