About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel nurse position in Grand Forks, North Dakota. 13‑week assignment, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. The role involves caring for patients who need close monitoring but do not require ICU care, including cardiac, medical, neuro, surgical step‑down and ER holding patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand, walk, bend, lean and stoop for extended periods; lift up to 20 pounds routinely, with patient moves requiring up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years preferred).

Schedule

12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
