About the role
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a specialized unit, supervises nursing support staff, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
- Provide timely and accurate patient status updates for team conferences and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately and organizing workflow efficiently.
- Maintain safety in all aspects of care, including patient handling, infection control, and environment safety.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication, participating in team-building activities.
- Coordinate supplies, equipment, and clinical needs, promoting cost-effective practices.
- May assume charge responsibility following orientation and actively pursue ongoing professional development.
Requirements
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate.
- Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (if applicable).
- A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
- Certification and education as required by the role.
- Ability to start on or before 08/31/2026.
Schedule
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts.
- Minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Duration: 13 weeks.
