About the role

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care in a specialized unit, supervises nursing support staff, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
  • Provide timely and accurate patient status updates for team conferences and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation and discharge planning from the day of admission, including patient teaching.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately and organizing workflow efficiently.
  • Maintain safety in all aspects of care, including patient handling, infection control, and environment safety.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication, participating in team-building activities.
  • Coordinate supplies, equipment, and clinical needs, promoting cost-effective practices.
  • May assume charge responsibility following orientation and actively pursue ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate.
  • Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (if applicable).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
  • Certification and education as required by the role.
  • Ability to start on or before 08/31/2026.

Schedule

  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts.
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Duration: 13 weeks.
