Travel nursing assignment for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Omaha, Nebraska.

About the role

The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by following established nursing care plans while supervising licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, orientees, and other team members. The role emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide patient and family education
  • Actively participate in discharge planning
  • Document care accurately
  • Participate in team conferences
  • Oversee patient safety initiatives
  • Support a calm and efficient work environment
  • May include charge responsibilities following orientation

Requirements

  • Valid nursing license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable)
  • At least 2 years of bedside clinical experience
  • Educational qualifications as per the organization’s standards

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting (preferred)
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • Excellent communication abilities

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • 13-week assignment starting 08/24/2026

    Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
