About the role
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in pediatric outpatient care, located in Norfolk, VA. This position involves providing a wide range of patient care activities within a pediatric outpatient setting, demonstrating excellence in nursing practice through quality patient care and participation in staff education. The nurse will work closely with practice physicians and support developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
The role requires working in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards, exposure to communicable diseases, and moderately adverse working conditions due to patient care activities.
Schedule
- Days shift, 8 hours per day
- Minimum 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide a wide range of patient care activities in a pediatric outpatient setting
- Demonstrate excellence in nursing practice through quality patient care
- Participate in staff education
- Work closely with practice physicians
- Support developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care
Requirements
- Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or a valid Compact State license
- Completion of an accredited School of Nursing
- CPR training (must be obtained within 45 days of hire)
- 2 years of clinical experience
- Pediatric experience preferred
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
- Professional certification in the area of expertise or BSN, MSN, or Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- 3-5 years of progressive clinical experience in the related specialty
