Job Summary
An Orthopedic and Trauma Stepdown Nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is needed at a healthcare organization located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position offers a night shift schedule, with shifts lasting 12 hours and a minimum of 36 hours per week. The role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients recovering from orthopedic and trauma procedures, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload within the PCU
- Implementing care plans in compliance with hospital policies and SOPs
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (licensed in Indiana or eligible for licensure)
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting, including experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar environment
- Minimum of an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) are highly preferred
- Prior experience working in orthopedic and trauma care is advantageous

Pay
Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
