Job Description

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. The position requires one year of recent Stepdown RN experience, current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Preferred qualifications include PCCN certification and NIHSS certification.

Requirements

  • One year recent Stepdown RN experience
  • Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Preferred: Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification, NIHSS Certification

Qualifications

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Must have the ability to read/write/communicate in the English language, read/write/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

Essential Work Functions

  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
  • Notifies supervisor or physician of patient's cardiac status and response to interventions
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
  • Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
  • Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
