Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,395 per week

About the role

A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is needed for a healthcare facility in the Wausau region. The position involves providing post‑anesthesia recovery care in a busy PACU environment, handling a variety of cases including general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Stabilize ICU patients during recovery.
• Manage general and specialized surgical cases (spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, orthopedic).
• Perform post‑anesthesia recovery procedures.
• Participate in a holiday rotation.
• Respond to on‑call assignments with a 30‑minute response time, including one night per week and every fifth weekend.

Requirements

• Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
• Minimum 2+ years PACU experience with recent hospital work, including post‑cardiac and pediatric cases.
• Electronic charting experience, preferably with Epic.
• Scrubs may be any color.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Schedule

Days shift, 4 × 10‑hour shifts (start times 07:30, 08:00, or 09:00), totaling 40 hours per week. Assignment runs 13 weeks from 10/05/2026 to 01/02/2027.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
