Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,272 per week

Job Description

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a PACU - Post Anesthesia Care role in Peoria, Illinois. The position will last 20 weeks starting August 10, 2026, with a 36-hour workweek and 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification preferred
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications may be required

Essential Work Functions

• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients
• Monitor and evaluate patient's vital signs and recovery from anesthesia
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and recovery progress
• Develop and deliver individualized patient and family education plans
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers
• Participate in patient handoff communications
• Operate and monitor PACU-specific equipment

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking and service excellence
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions
• Proficiency in PC skills

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend

• Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
• Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
• Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
• Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
• Must be able to concentrate continuously to detail
