Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,211 per week

Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 13‑week travel assignment, 40 hours per week, 8‑hour day shifts.

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a PACU RN, you'll provide observation and care for post‑operative patients as they recover from surgical anesthesia. PACU Travel Nurses offer a crucial care step between surgery and recovery, ensuring patients are monitored for any adverse reactions.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition.
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room.

Skills

• Able to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely, with patient moving/lifting requiring up to 50 pounds at times.
• Possess good stress‑coping skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
