Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,201 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Rapid City, South Dakota. Start date: 10/19/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 12 hours, rotating. Hours per week: 36. The PACU RN will provide observation and care for post‑operative patients recovering from surgical anesthesia, monitoring for adverse reactions and determining readiness for transfer to a room.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition.
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience (minimum 1.5 years).
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
