Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $1,990 per week

Job Summary

The healthcare facility located in Louisville, Kentucky, is seeking a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts. This position involves working within a dynamic environment where the PACU is operational 24/7, and staff will float between Pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery areas, as well as adjacent recovery zones. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex post-operative patient care with ICU-level skills.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license
• At least 2 years of PACU experience
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing vents, multiple drips, spinal drains, and lines
• Strong assessment skills

Float

Yes, staff will float between Pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II as well as adjacent recovery areas.

Additional Information

• Working in a fast-paced PACU environment with complex post-operative care
• Support within the department includes charge nurses, PCA/UCs, educators, managers, and available phlebotomy and vascular access teams
• Utilizes EMR systems, IV pumps, monitors, and medication dispensing equipment
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2-3 full shifts in the department
• No weekend rotation; on-call may be required during holiday times
• Holiday schedule based on unit need
• Scrub color is provided, and parking is free with badge access
