Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $1,800 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN for a PACU - Post Anesthesia Care position in Charleston, South Carolina. This is a 13-week travel nursing assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room
• Provide observation and care for post-op patients as they recover from surgical anesthesia
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during the crucial care step between surgery and recovery

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Qualifications

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times for moving or lifting patients
• Good skills for coping with stress in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
