About the role
Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) at a facility with 11 ORs open 24/7. During the day, 10 rooms are active with 1 reserved for trauma. Overnight, there are 2 booked rooms and 1 dedicated trauma room. This role involves evening shifts of 8 hours each.
Responsibilities
- Perform perioperative nursing duties in the Operating Room.
- Handle cases including GYN, Spine, Hands, Neuro, Ortho, Oncological Breast, and Microvascular procedures.
- Scrub experience is highly preferred, particularly in Ortho with Robotics.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with OR experience (2 years minimum).
- Compact RN license accepted.
- Certifications: BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA.
- 2 years of experience at a Level 1 trauma center.
- NBSTSA certification for Surgical Technologists (ST) is required; no other certifications accepted.
- State registration with DORA (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies) is mandatory.
- Required submission items for credentialing:
- Online application through DORA.
- Proof of training/education or experience.
- Criminal background check (costs about $85; background and fingerprints cost $40–60 depending on vendor).
- Employment and certification history.
- Badge photo.
- Colorado requires surgical technologists to register yearly with the state database but does not require national certification.
