Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,900 per week
About the role
This position involves pre-op and Phase II post-op care for adult patients, with minimal pediatric cases, in a Level IV Trauma Center with a focus on specialties such as orthopedics, urology, hysterectomy, and interventional radiology.
The role requires delivering high-quality perioperative nursing care, with a focus on supporting patient recovery and ensuring surgical readiness, in an evening shift schedule.
Responsibilities
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse will be responsible for pre-op and Phase II post-op care, including IV starts, assisting with blocks, and GI pre/post experience.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in perioperative nursing, supporting pre-op and Phase II recovery
- Skills in IV starts, assisting with blocks, and GI pre/post experience
- Preference for IR pre/post background
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Qualifications
Patient Population: Mostly adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases, primarily female and male surgical patients including ortho, urology, hysterectomy, IR, imaging, and tubal ligation.
Support on the Unit: Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 pre-op, 1:4 for Phase II recovery; support staff includes CNA, HUC (Health Unit Coordinator), RT (Respiratory Therapist) 24/7, hospitalist services 24/7, and a charge nurse who takes assignments.
Skills
Technology/Equipment: EMR with EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, monitors.

Pay
Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
Shifts start at various times including 0500, 0600, 0800, 0900, and 1200, scheduled in 6-week increments roughly one month prior.
No weekend rotation or on-call; holiday work includes evening and day after holiday coverage, with days off approved by management.
