About the role
Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in South Charleston, West Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Work in One Day Surgery / Ambulatory Surgery at WVU
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts typically 6:45A–3:15P
- Late stay may be required past 3:15P until cases are completed
- Scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery cases
- Independently perform cataract cases and corneal procedures
- Float to other surgical departments based on facility needs
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years OR experience
- Ophthalmology experience required
- AHA BLS certification
- Must be able to independently perform cataract cases and corneal procedures
- Must be able to scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery cases
- Driver's license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
- Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
- Previous travelers who worked there for a full year must also be gone for 2 years
- Travel pairs/teams must be submitted together
- Only 2 candidates may be submitted per opening

Schedule & Call
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8 hours, days
- Minimum 1 weekday call shift per week
- Weekend call may be required up to every other weekend
- Holiday call rotates
- 30-minute response time for all call

- Orientation: Hospital orientation followed by unit orientation in One Day Surgery
- Candidate can only be submitted to 1 WVU position at a time
- Assignments 13+ weeks: facility may cancel up to 2 shifts
- Assignments under 13 weeks: facility may cancel 1 shift
- The biggest hard stop is ophthalmology. This is not a general OR opening. The candidate needs to be able to independently handle cataract and corneal cases and must be comfortable both scrubbing and circulating.
- Confirm the candidate can meet the 30-minute call response time, especially with potential every-other-weekend call.
