Responsibilities
- Circulate surgery cases
- Pull and prep for surgeries
- Work from a preference card system
- Set up, clean, and turn over operating rooms
- Handle diverse surgical specialties: general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics
- Utilize various surgical equipment and computer charting systems
Requirements
- Licensure as a San Diego Registered Nurse (SD RN License)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years OR experience
- Ability to float within peri-operative departments, including Patient Center (pre-op, post-op, outpatient services) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Facility details: 4 operating rooms, 1 procedure room, 8 PACU bays, 18 patient center rooms
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 in OR; 1:1-4 in Patient Center depending on patient needs; 2:1 in PACU
- Initial department orientation and equipment training provided, including in-depth orientation for unfamiliar equipment
