Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,660 per week

Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within a high-volume, Level I trauma center. The position requires flexibility to float across multiple campuses and participate in a rotating shift schedule to support various service lines including Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedics, and Transplants.

Schedule

• Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift
• Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Orientation dates: 08/31, 09/08, and 09/14 (sooner start dates prioritized)
• Includes participation in 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized surgical nursing care in a high-volume, Level I trauma center
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Support various service lines including Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedics, and Transplants
• Manage rapid case turnovers with an average caseload of 35-50 cases daily
• Use specialized surgical equipment, including Da Vinci robots and Stealth Neuro navigation technology

Requirements

• 24 months of current operating room experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
• Circulating or scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in general, da Vinci Robotics, pediatrics, and trauma required
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; trauma Level II experience required
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Driver’s license required

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
