AMN Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Operating Room (OR) in Bakersfield, California. This is a 13-week assignment with 40 hours per week, offering shifts of 10 hours on days, evenings, or nights.
Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. You will supervise and direct the activities of assigned nursing staff, collaborate with other disciplines, and utilize critical thinking and independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- Collect relevant data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues.
- Develop and implement care plans, coordinating with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and caring environment.
- Provide health information and education to patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
- Delegate tasks and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California.
- 2 years of OR experience.
- BLS certification (copy required).
- SSN and DOB required.
- 2 references from the last 12 months.
- Experience with orthopedic, neuro spinal, and cardiovascular cases.
- Ability to scrub cases is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
