Requirements
- 2 years of Operating Room experience is required
- Level II trauma experience is required
- BLS is required
- 16hr Maryland-approved trauma course is required
- 8hrs annual trauma CEUs are required
- Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
- All clinicians within the system float as needed, within their scope
- No block schedule
- Every other weekend is required
- On call is required based on unit needs
- First-timers accepted
- RTO approval for 14 days or less
- No RTO on holidays
- Experience with trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, surgical oncology, oral/dental, laparoscopic procedures, urology, ophthalmology, GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, robotics, vascular, thoracic
- Experience with emergency OR response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia, latex allergy precautions, electrosurgical units, fiber-optic equipment, and Steris equipment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, age-appropriate care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in the Operating Room
- Assist with approximately 40 cases per day, supporting various surgical specialties
- Serve as a member of the patient care team, collaborating closely with surgical staff
- Utilize advanced technology and minimally invasive techniques to deliver evidence-based care
- Maintain safety protocols, including emergency OR response and safety precautions
