Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $2,095 per week
Operating Room nurse position available in State College, Pennsylvania. This role involves assessing and responding to patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs through personal observation and interaction. The nurse acts as a patient advocate, utilizes professional nursing judgment, and communicates assessments to ensure coordinated patient care. The position offers a comprehensive opportunity to apply clinical skills, including knowledge of diagnostic measures and IV therapy, within a fast-paced surgical environment.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe and implement physicians' orders
- Document in patient clinical records
- Provide patient and family education
- Assist with housekeeping duties
- Assess patient status, maintain airway, monitor vital signs, and administer medications for pain control (when assigned to perioperative areas such as PACU)
- Evaluate discharge criteria
- Support anesthesia procedures and assist with nerve blocks
- Respond to emergencies with knowledge of crash carts and emergency medications
- Function as a float, maintaining communication across departments, relieving staff for breaks, and assisting in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms
- Actively participate in committees and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Degree in nursing
- Located in or willing to relocate to State College, Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 0 years of experience in operating room nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in perioperative nursing or related specialties
- Certification in perioperative nursing
Schedule
- Day shift, 8 hours per shift
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- 13 weeks duration, starting 08/31/2026
