Travel Nurse RN - OR - Operating Room - $1,717 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Operating Room (OR) position in Billings, Montana. The assignment begins on 10/12/2026, lasts 13 weeks, and involves 30 hours per week on 10‑hour rotating shifts under a travel employment arrangement. As an OR Travel Nurse you will assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education, and perform a range of circulating, scrub, or RN first‑assistant duties as needed. Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients' family members and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure(s) is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home‑care needs.
• Circulating OR Nurse duties: Respond to patient comfort and safety needs; accurately care for and handle specimens; monitor equipment used during surgery; inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Scrub OR Nurse duties: Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures; inventory surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• RN First Assistant duties: Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients following surgery.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment
