About the role
The role involves providing care to patients diagnosed with various types of cancer under the supervision of oncology nurses and doctors.
Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for side effects and adjust treatments accordingly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including oncologists, radiologists, and social workers.
- Document patient care activities and treatment plans accurately.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia.
- Current BLS certification from an American Heart Association-approved course.
- Experience in oncology nursing preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of oncology nursing practices and protocols.
- Proficiency in computer systems used for patient documentation.
