About the role
Travel Nurse RN Nursery position in Salem, Virginia. 13‑week assignment, 36 hours per week, 12‑hour day shifts. Immediate opening.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic care to well babies
- Provide light oxygen therapy to babies
- Respond promptly to the needs of a newborn
- Administer vaccinations and newborn screens per hospital policy
- Administer treatments, tests and procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs
- Monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being and report any changes
- Perform minor medical operations and advise patients/family on illnesses or injuries
- Plan long‑term care needs
Requirements
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- At least 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience
Skills
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Good coping skills for stress
- Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
