Travel Nurse RN - NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - $3,132 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care position in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. As a NICU RN, you will provide critical care to sick and premature infants, assist the care team in delivering round-the-clock care, and support parents through emotional encouragement and guidance on infant care after discharge.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life.
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary.
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as incubators and ventilators.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift 10‑20 pounds of equipment as needed.
• Face potential hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.
• Offer parental support, including emotional encouragement and education on infant care.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• 1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Schedule

Duration: 13 weeks, 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, evenings.
