Travel Nurse RN - NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - $2,699 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for a 13‑week assignment in Lafayette, Indiana. The position requires 48 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts, and is a travel employment type. Candidates should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. As a NICU RN you will provide critical care to sick and premature infants, support the care team in delivering round‑the‑clock care, and assist parents with emotional encouragement and guidance on infant care after discharge.

Responsibilities

• Care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life.
• Monitor vital signs and initiate corrective action when necessary.
• Provide nutritional assessment and specialized feedings.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Provide arterial and intravenous therapy.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as incubators and ventilators.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift 10‑20 pounds of equipment as needed.
• Be aware of potential hazards from exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• NRP certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent NICU experience (1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment
