Travel nursing assignment at HCA HealthONE Rose in Denver, Colorado. Unit: ICN Neonatal ICU (675).

Unit Information

• 24 licensed beds
• 41 staff members (day and night shifts)
• Staffing: 1 charge nurse with assignment per shift; no nursing aids utilized; staffing depends on acuity
• Patient ratios: 1:1 to 4:1
• Equipment: Level 3 NICU with oscillators, vents, bubble CPAP, central lines, 23 weeders, ABG machine, pump feeds, telemedicine
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital NICU RN experience
• BLS & NRP certifications
• Level III or Level IV NICU experience (required)
• Prior Meditech experience (preferred)
• PICU experience (preferred)
• PALS certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform typical NICU procedures: circs, pneumo taps, intubations, chest tubes (assist with level 3 procedures)
• No surgeries performed at Rose NICU; no nitric oxide or head/body cooling
• Peripheral IV insertion, medication administration, blood administration
• Blood draws from arterial, heel, and venous sites
• Handoff communications and transitions observed in NICU
• Attend high-risk deliveries
• Demonstrate friendly, approachable, visible, and caring personality
• Prioritize patient care and communication with staff and providers
• Adapt to HCA HealthONE Rose culture with respect
