Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $3,100 per week

About the role

Maine Medical Center is seeking an RN for Bean 5, a 43‑bed Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care unit. This opening provides leave coverage. Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is a leading provider of traveling healthcare professionals nationwide, specializing in the placement of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and Allied Health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips.
• Perform tracheostomy care.
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, PCA and epidural pumps, wound VACs, and specialty beds.
• Care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, acute on chronic medical conditions, and some surgical needs.
• Float to other IMC or Med/Surg units based on unit needs and RN skills.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• 1–2 years of minimum clinical experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficiency with Epic EHR.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, days or nights.
• Willingness to float as needed.

Qualifications

• Specialty in Med Surg / Telemetry.
• Eligibility for travel nursing assignments.
• Ability to meet the facility’s hour guarantees (48 hours per week per the posting, with 36 guaranteed hours per week at the unit).

Skills

• Telemetry strip interpretation.
• Tracheostomy care.
• Ventilator experience (required for IMC RNs).
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, PCA and epidural pumps, wound VACs, and specialty beds.
• Ability to manage patient ratios (Med Surg 1:4–5 days, 1:5–6 nights; IMC 1:3 both shifts).
