Unit details

South Wing 6 is a 32‑bed (flexible up to 34 beds) general surgical unit with a fast‑paced, highly acute care population. The unit handles general surgery, colorectal, elective weight‑loss (gastric) surgery, urology, spinal, thoracic, trauma, ortho‑trauma, endocrine, and occasional medical overflow.

Patient ratios are 5‑7 patients per nurse (the unit strives to avoid 7).

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
