Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $2,300 per week

About the Role

This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a neuroscience and medical-surgical unit. The position requires experienced nursing professionals to manage patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries, focusing on trauma and neuro cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a Neuro Medical Surgical Acute unit with 54 beds, including neuroscience, stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, and head injury cases
• Titrate heparin drips based on PTT
• Troubleshoot high flow oxygen devices (e.g., vents, Cpap, Bipap) when needed
• Read telemetry strips from Phillips monitors
• Participate in unit-specific orientation
• Float to general units as required in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Valid Illinois license or confirmed application
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification
• At least 1 year of nursing experience
• Experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Previous travel experience (no first-time travelers)
• Last four digits of SSN for submission
• Confirmation of understanding of clinic policies
• Availability for orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with heparin gtt
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Neuro or trauma units experience

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Minimum commitment of 36 hours per week
• Start date: 09/28/2026 through 01/11/2027
