Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg / Telemetry - $2,185 per week

About the Role

Cardiac Renal Unit Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS/Tele) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Evansville, Indiana. This clinical role involves providing high-acuity care on a 41-bed unit, primarily during night shifts. The unit primarily cares for high-acuity Tele/Medical Surgical patients with cardiac-heavy caseloads, including Afib with RVR, flutter, blocks, post-ablation, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis patients.

The facility may require precepting of students and new hires. The unit offers a collaborative environment with experienced staff and a manager who has been with the team for over 15 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex cardiac and telemetry patients, including those with arrhythmias, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis.
• Perform assessments and interpret telemetry.
• Initiate and titrate various drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.) and interventions.
• Perform PIV insertion, chest tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI).
• Administer and dose antidysrhythmic medications.
• Interpret Tele/12-lead EKGs (travelers must pass telemetry tests).

Requirements

• Current active compact RN license.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience.
• At least one travel assignment completed.
• Trauma level II experience.
• Recent EPIC charting experience (includes a checkoff class).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation.
• Skill in initiating and titrating drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, amino acids, etc.).
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Resilience, hard-working attitude, and ability to manage change effectively.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Minimum 36 hours per week (48 hours accepted upon request).
• Duration: 20 weeks, starting 09/07/2026.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
