About the role
Travel RN specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) in a healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Providing bedside patient care for adult and teenage patients
- Managing patient documentation
- Performing vital signs
- Titrating IV medications
- Reading telemetry strips
- Collaborating with team members
- May float to the Intensive Medical Care Unit (IMCU)
- Support proactive patient rounding and call light assistance
- Ensuring high-quality clinical care during night shifts with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Adhering to unit protocols
- Working alongside nurse aides and cardiac techs
- Nursing supervisor available 24/7
Qualifications
- Active BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience
- Valid license to practice
Skills
- Proficiency with EPIC documentation
- Ability to manage multiple patients
- Experience with common diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, and surgical cases
