Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,520 per week

About the role
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
- Option to work 48 hours per week
- No on-call or standby requirements
- Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) scheduling required
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
- Nurse aides available: 1:8 on days, 1:14 on nights
- 29-bed unit serving patients with abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical conditions
- Telemetry monitoring supported by monitor techs; RNs are not required to read their own strips
- Equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no ventilators
- Charting system: Cerner
- Agency staff not required to work in a charge nurse role
- Float rotation to other med/surg units possible if unit is overstaffed
- Scrubs of any color accepted
- Orientation includes 12 hours of computer training and 12 hours of shadowing
Responsibilities
- IV management, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters
- Titrate drips including Heparin and infrequently insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
Requirements
- BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Intermediate care background strongly preferred
- Michigan nursing license required
- BSN not required
- Electronic health record proficiency
Facility
This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. The 4N PCU/Med-Surg unit is a 29-bed department that provides intermediate-level care to patients recovering from complex surgeries and general medical conditions. The facility uses Cerner as its electronic health record system and is supported by a collaborative team including charge nurses, nurse aides, monitor technicians, and respiratory therapy staff.

Pay
Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,520 plus a $500 contract completion bonus.
