Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,419 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical Neuro RN for an immediate travel nurse opening in Albany, NY. As a MedSurg Neuro RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. You will perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician, document patient findings, and provide education and support to patients' families.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times
• Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• At least 1 year of recent MedSurg experience
• Must pass facility competency testing
• Familiarity with Epic EMR (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a large academic or teaching hospital
• Experience caring for diverse, high-acuity patient populations
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Schedule

• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
