Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,330 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing assignment in Canton, South Dakota. The position starts 10/19/2026 for 13 weeks, requiring 36 hours per week on 12‑hour rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience.
• ACLS, BLS, TNCC certifications (additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment).

Schedule

• 36 hours per week.
• 12‑hour rotating shifts.
