Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,321 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Wausau, WI. The right RN should have 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience. As a MedSurg RN you will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection, perform ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered, document findings, and provide education and support to patients’ families.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist the physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years recent acute care experience (Medical Surgical preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
