Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,220 per week

About the Role

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN for a 13-week assignment in Lincoln, Nebraska. This night-shift position focuses on providing care to medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients in a 42-bed med surg unit. The role requires adherence to facility-specific staffing and patient care protocols, with potential float assignments to PCU or Burn units.

• Unit ratio: 1:5-6 (rotates to 1:6 at least once per week)
• Charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment
• No titratable drips except Heparin; RT available 24/7 on the floor
• Telemetry available centrally with tele monitor techs
• Nurse aides/patient care techs available (ratio 1:10-12)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Orientation: Classroom training plus two 12-hour shifts on the floor (first week only)
• RTO (request time off) required upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract); additional RTO not approved
• Facility allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Charting system: EPIC
• No BSN required

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a med surg unit with a focus on medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients
• Adhere to facility policies, including staffing and patient care protocols
• Participate in float rotation as required, including assignments to PCU or Burn units

Requirements

• BLS Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Valid nursing licensure
• Must be located within 50 miles of the facility
• Driver’s license required

Schedule

• 13-week assignment starting 08/17/2026
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
