About the role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) on the inpatient floor in Lewiston, ME. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a 37-bed unit focused on surgical and telemetry patients, including those with bariatric conditions. The role offers an engaging environment with diverse clinical responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.

Schedule

  • Shift: Nights; 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Care for patients with bariatric conditions (preferred)
  • Float rotation may be required to all inpatient units
  • Utilize specialty beds, wound vacs, prevena vacs, and Baxter IV pumps

Requirements

  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Surgical experience, especially bariatrics, preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification
  • Experience with ultrasound IV placement and bariatric patient care

Additional Information

  • Openings are available due to contractor replacement
  • Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients with common diagnoses such as diabetes, pneumonia, trauma, general surgery, plastics, and urology
