Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,163 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Milwaukee, WI. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Specialty: Med Surg; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; Employment Type: Travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification.
• 1 year of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
