Responsibilities
- Provide medical-surgical nursing care across Med-Surg units (1W and 2E)
- Unit 2E houses both clean and COVID "dirty" patient hallways; nurses must be comfortable caring for both patient types simultaneously
- Floating is required across Med-Surg units (1W and 2E)
Requirements & qualifications
- Licensure: Active Pennsylvania RN license (any license hits must be disclosed upfront)
- Certifications: Current BLS certification required (only required cert for this unit)
- Experience: Med-Surg experience required
- Patient ratios: Typically 1:6–7
- Additional notes: Nights do not have dedicated CNAs on the units; telemetry is monitored remotely via 3rd-floor monitor techs rather than bedside strip reading
Policies & scheduling
- Radius rule: Strict 50-mile radius rule. All candidate submissions must include a copy of an unexpired driver's license. Any hits on professional licenses must be fully disclosed at submission.
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling and block scheduling are permitted as long as unit staffing needs are met. Weekend requirement is every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday), plus 2 Fridays per schedule period.
- Dress code: Solid navy blue scrubs and navy blue jackets (if worn)
